A Window to the Skies

This journey opens a window to the vast sky of one of the most ancient civilizations on our blue planet. The tour starts from Shiraz, the city of ancient palaces, gardens and poems. In Shiraz, after walking through Vakil Bazaar with alluring old shops, caravanserais and bath houses, we will see the two most magnificent gardens, Narenjestan and Eram (one of the nine Persian Gardens inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List) Gardens, and Hafiz and Saadi Tombs, the two great Persian poets of all time. At night, we will enjoy magic moments of observing the sky full of shining stars in Aboreyhan Observatory. On our way to Isfahan, we will visit Persepolis, (UNESCO World Heritage), the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire, Naqsh-e Rostam and Pasargadae (UNESCO World Heritage), capital of the Cyrus the Great.

In Isfahan, registered as global city of Handicrafts, we will go to Naqsh-e Jahan Square (UNESCO World Heritage) to see the most splendid Safavid mosques, bazaar and palace around the square, such as Jame Mosque (UNESCO World Heritage). At night, visiting Adib Astronomy Teaching center will be the beginning of our unique experience of  stargazing in the vast clear sky of the desert on Matinabad, the first and only Eco-resort in Iran. Enjoy its spectacular scenery and organic food; a combination of astronomical experience and dreamy night in the desert. On our way back to Tehran, we will visit Fin Garden  in Kashan, another Persian Garden registered on UNESCO World Heritage List. In Tehran, we will visit Qajar Golestan Palace (UNESCO World  Heritage) and as soon as the magic of  Tehran night begins, we will visit Zaferaniyeh Observatory. We will end our astronomy tour by going to the Abdolazim Observatory.

  • Shiraz
    Day 1
    Arrive in Shiraz and transfer to the hotel. O/N
  • Iran Tour- Tour to Iran-Travel to Iran
    Day 2

    Full day Shiraz tour includes Vakil Bazaar that is located in the historical center of the city .The bazaar has beautiful courtyards, caravansarais, bath houses, and old shops which are deemed among the best places in Shiraz to buy all kinds of Persian rugs, spices, copper handicrafts and antiques. Like other Middle Eastern bazaars, there are several mosques and Imamzadehs beside or behind the bazaar .

    Narenjestan Garden is a traditional and historical house in Shiraz dating back to Qajar era.  Due to the abundance of sour orange trees, it is called Narenjestan. Over its 150 years of construction, the structure has been modified and changed. The structure housed 32 rooms on two stories, decorated by tiles with Hafez’s poems written on them.

    Hafeziyeh: the memorial structure in memory of the celebrated Persian poet “Hafez” was built in 1935 and designed by French architect and archaeologist André Godard. “Saadi Tomb”is the tomb and mausoleum dedicated to the Persian poet “Saadi“, the major Persian poet and a literary man of the medieval period. The building was built between 1950 and 1952. , visit Aboreyhan observatory as well . O/N Shiraz

  • Shiraz-Isfahan
    Day 3

    After breakfast, the full day drive to Isfahan begins. En route visit Persepolis  UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE. It has been the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire. Archaeological evidence shows that the earliest remains of Persepolis date back to 515 BC. Pasargadae (UNESCO world Heritage) was the capital of the Achaemenid Empire under Cyrus the Great who had issued its construction (559–530 BC); it was also the location of his tomb (Naghsh-e Rostam). Then, continue toward Isfahan . O/N

  • Iran Tour- Tour to Iran-Travel to Iran
    Day 4
    Full day city tour in Isfahan, visit Naghshe Jahan Sq., a UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE Site,. It is a square constructed between 1598 and 1629, The square is surrounded by buildings from the Safavid era including Shah Mosque , Ali Qapu Palace, Sheikh Lotf Allah Mosque and Isfahan Grand Bazaar. In the afternoon, visit the old bridges, and have a tea in a traditional tea house. O/N
  • Isfahan-Matinabad
    Day 5

    Half day city tour in Isfahan ; we will visit Jameh Mosque a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is a congregational mosque and it was built in a four-iwan architectural style, placing four gates . An iwan is a vaulted open room. It is constructed under the Seljuqs’ order, and it is known as a masterpiece of Persian architecture for its structural clarity and geometric balance.

    Then, we will visit Vank Cathedral ,one of the first cathedrals to be established in  Jolfa district in 1606.  The ceiling above the entrance is painted with delicate floral motifs in the style of Persian miniature.

    We will also visit Adib center of Astronomy. then, we will drive  to Matinabad  desert eco-resort at night  and we will enjoy Star watching. O/N(Accommodation in Cottage or Tent with public toilets and Bathrooms.)

  • Travel in Iran-fin garden
    Day 6

    In the morning , we can enjoy camel riding ( optional / passengers will pay Cash themselves) , then we will visit Organic farm, and then we would drive to Tehran. En route, we will visit Kashan cultural  heritage sites such as Tabatabaei house that is a historic house and it was built in the early 1880s for the affluent Tabatabaei family.

    Fin garden ( a UNESCO World Heritage Site ) is a historical Persian garden . The Fin Garden is the oldest extant garden in Iran. It was listed as a national property of Iran and it included Kashan’s Fin Bath . Later,we will continue to Tehran. O/N

  • Tehran
    Day 7

    Tehran City tour includes a visit to Archaeological Museum. It is a building formed of two complexes, including the Museum of Ancient Iran and the Museum of the post-Islamic era which was inaugurated in 1972.

    Golestan palace ( a UNESCO World Heritage Site ),literally meaning the Roseland Palace, is the former royal Qajar complex and the oldest historic monument in Tehran.

    Next, we will visit Jewelry museum where the royal jewelry of Iran is on display. The jewelry such as Darya-ye-Noor diamond (the sea of light), Naderi Paisley, the crown of Queen Farah Pahlavi, Kiyani crown, the gem globe, the Peacock bed (Ghajarid) (The sun bed), and the Naderi bed belonged to Safavid, Afsharid, Ghajar and Pahlavi dynasties. Finally, we will visit Zaferaniyeh Observatory . O/N Tehran.

  • Tehran -IKA
    Day 08
    You will stay in the hotel until noon (12:00), then we will go to visit Shah Abdolazim observatory, and then we will drive to IKA for the flight back.
