FAM Tour- Iran as a classic and adventure destination 2017

Iran Doostan Tours is offering ATTA members and participants from Jordan Next and introduction to Iran as a destination for cultural and adventure travel this November. The program is eight days with the possibility to travel before or after the program. We also welcome suggestions regarding topics and activities that are of interest to you in assessing Iran as a future destination.

Participation fee: $ 1,260.00 (double occupancy) $ 300 (single occupancy supplement) Minimum participants 12 – Maximum 14.

Please note that the entire participation fee will be credited towards any future programs booked (through calendar year 2018) with Iran Doostan Tours (IDT)

Registration deadline: Friday, September 1, 2017 – at the time of reservation full trip payment is required. In the case the program is cancelled a 100% refund (less bank charges) will be provided to all participants.

    Participants arrive in Shiraz and transferred to hotel.

          Visit Naqsh-e Rostam

          Evening arrival in Yazd

    Day 3
    Yazd highlights:

          Zoroastrian sites of the Fire Temple and Towers of Silence

          Walking tour in historic center (Amir Chakmaq Complex,

    Haj Kalifeh Ali Rahbar Confectionary, Yazd Bazaar, Masjed Jomeh of Yazd, Fahadan historic district and Qanat visit (UNESCO).

          Yazd hotel visits

          Attend evening Zuhrkhane session.

          Evening photo walking tour to Amir Chakmaq and Masjed Jomeh.

    Overnight: Yazd in traditional hotel.

  • Yazd-Isfahan (Tuesday, November 14, 2017)
    Day 4

          Visit Dowlat Abad gardens (UNESCO) on way to Meybod.

          In Meybod visit the Yakhchal and the castle followed by lunch in traditional home.

          Visit Nain en-route to Isfahan – the Masjed Jomeh and the Pirnia House

          Evening visit to the iconic bridges of Isfahan Khaju and Si-o-Se.

  • Isfahan (Wednesday, November 15, 2017)
    Day 5
    Isfahan highlights:

          Nagsh-e Jahan (UNESCO) (Ali Qapu, Imam and Loftollah mosques and bazaar)

          Isfahan hotel visits

          Evening walking in Naqsh-e Jahan for photo tour

          Following dinner tea at the Hotel Abbasi (also to visit the property).

    Overnight: Hotel in Isfahan

  • Isfahan-Matinabad (Thursday, November 16, 2017)
    Day 6

          Morning visit the Masjed Jomeh of Isfahan (UNESCO).

          Lunch in home and visit Natanz.

          Destination Iran Question time and workshop before dinner in Matinabad.

    Overnight in Matinabad (traditional desert house “koomeh” or tent)

  • Abyaneh and Agha Ali Abbas (Friday, November 17, 2017)
    Day 7

     Morning depart from Matinabad and visit Abyaneh village

     Lunch at Abyaneh 

     Drive to Agha Ali Abbas holy shrine

     Overnight: Matinabd Eco Camp

  • Matinabad-Tehran (Saturday, November 18, 2017)
    Day 8
          Morning return to Matinabad – time to change and rest.

          In Kashan visit Fin Garden (UNESCO), traditional merchant homes, the Agha Bozorg theological school as well as Kashan hotel visits.

          Transfer to Tehran IKA airport or hotel in Tehran. (based on travel plans) for departure in the early morning of Sunday, November 19.

Services included

Land program is all-inclusive for accommodation, visa processing (Visa reference number), transport, site visits, workshop on selling Iran and adventure travel and product development, activities and meals as described in the itinerary.

Services not included

Transport to and from Iran and additional airport transfers not part of the group itinerary, gratuities for local guides and drivers and tea- house visits outside of regular itinerary. All costs associated with visa processing in country of residence or Visa on Arrival.

International Flights

The itinerary is based upon utilizing Turkish Airlines arriving in Shiraz (SYZ) and departing from Tehran (IKA).

  • Friday, November 10: Istanbul to Shiraz – TK 884 IST 2040 – SYZ 0200
  • Sunday, November 19: Tehran to Istanbul – TK 875 IKA 0300 – IST 0455

There are at generally four Turkish flights per day from Tehran to Istanbul) Likewise if you are using a Turkish Skyteam partner there is also Austrian and Lufthansa from Tehran IKA.

Visas for Iran

IDT will provide visa reference numbers for all participants.

US, UK and Canadian nationals must receive their visa prior to departure. (Canadian and US nationals from the Iranian Interests Section in Washington DC – www.daftar.org ) and UK nationals from ( The Iranian Consulate in London – http://london.mfa.ir/index.aspx?fkeyid=&siteid=234&pageid=33953 ). Please allow at least six weeks for visa reference processing.

For most nationalities you can either have the visa processed in your country of residence or receive the VOA (visa on arrival) in Iran. We will advise on a case by case basis regarding this.
